Endless Blue

If you’ve ever fantasised about scuba diving with Jacques Cousteau in one of his documentaries, then the southern region of Skiathos may be as close as you can get. Skiathos is a diver’s island, and there are many diving centres to choose from. There are three major hubs: Koukounaries beach, Tzaneria beach, and the new port of Skiathos. After being outfitted by specialists with the right equipment, experienced diving instructors will guide you to a rich seabed where you can explore reefs, caves and shipwrecks. Two caves in particular –Poseidon’s cave, filled with red coral, and the stunning blue water of Fonissa’s cave– are more than worth exploring. The crystal clear water in Skiathos provides you with incredible visibility, and the mild water temperatures are comfortable, especially in summer.
