Legendary Beaches
Azure waters, golden sands, picturesque landscapes and absolute relaxation describe the beaches of Zakynthos.
First mentioned in Homer’s Iliad, beautiful Zakynthos has been making history ever since. Its alluring beaches, boasting crystalline waters, are second to none. A landmark of the island is Navagio Beach, famous for its shipwreck. The remnants of the Panagiotis, a tobacco vessel, are nestled on its shores in a secluded cove framed by white cliffs.

Banana Beach beckons with its water sports, entertainment and pristine azure waters. Nearby, Plaka Beach offers tranquillity and perfect sunsets. Rich in minerals leached from caves, the therapeutic waters of Xigia Beach are akin to a spa experience. The resident taverna on the pebbled half of its shores treats guests to delicious meze.

Nestled in a bay of therapeutic, inviting and turquoise waters, the stretch of clay shores on the left of Gerakas Beach are famous as a nesting site for endangered Caretta-caretta sea turtles. Kalamaki Beach is known for its balmy waters, perfect for nocturnal swims. The adjacent beach of Laganas is well-equipped with facilities blending into a serene stretch of sand. Finally, one can not depart from Zakynthos without venturing out on Lake Keri.

Rented boats take guests through its caves, meandering natural rock tunnels and past the Mizithres rock formations which lead to an idyllic beach. From there, you can visit Marathonisi, a secluded and uninhabited island featuring two more beaches, one pebbly and the other sandy.
